Privacy Policy
Last updated: 22 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data crackAI.dev (“we”, “us”, the “Service”) collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. crackAI.dev is operated by VIANI, operating crackAI.dev(the “Data Fiduciary” under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023). By using the Service you agree to this Policy.
1. Data we collect
We collect only what we need to run the Service:
- Account & identity: your name, email address, and profile image, provided when you sign in. Authentication is handled by a third-party authentication provider; we receive these fields from them.
- Profile details: your target role, experience level, target company, and timeline, which you choose to provide to personalize your learning path.
- Content you create: discussion posts and comments, interview entries you add (company, role, dates), and job-description text or links you paste for prep planning.
- Resumes: if you upload a resume, we store the file and an AI-generated structured summary and feedback. Your resume contains personal data; we treat it as sensitive and you can delete it at any time.
- Mock interview data: questions, your typed answers and narration, and the AI’s feedback for sessions you run.
- Usage & progress: topics completed, items starred, questions asked of the AI, and similar activity, so we can track progress and improve the Service.
- Payment data: when paid plans launch, payments are processed by our third-party payment provider(s). We do not store your full card details; we receive only a transaction reference and subscription status.
- Technical data: basic analytics (pages viewed, performance metrics) and, for security, rate-limiting counters. We do not sell this data.
2. How we use your data
- To provide and personalize the Service (e.g. build your prep plan from a JD).
- To generate AI features you request, such as explanations, mock-interview feedback, and resume review.
- To operate accounts, process payments, and prevent abuse.
- To understand usage in aggregate and improve the product.
- To contact you about your account or important changes to the Service.
We rely on your consent (which you give by signing up and by submitting content such as a resume or JD) and on our legitimate interest in operating and securing the Service.
3. AI processing
Several features send your input to third-party AI model providers to generate a response. For example, a job description, resume text, or mock-interview answer is sent to an AI model provider for processing, and code you run in Coding Labs is executed in an isolated, sandboxed cloud environment. We send only what is needed for the feature, and we do not use your private content to train our own models. These providers process the data under their own terms; see “Who we share data with” below.
4. Who we share data with (processors)
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers (“Data Processors”) that help us run the Service, each under contractual data protection obligations:
- Authentication services: sign-in and account management.
- Cloud database & storage services: storing your account data and files (including resumes).
- AI model providers: generating AI text features.
- Cloud code-execution services: running your code in an isolated sandbox for Coding Labs.
- Product analytics services: understanding usage in aggregate (hosted in the EU).
- Security & abuse-prevention services: rate limiting and protecting the Service.
- Payment processors: processing payments (when paid plans launch).
- Communication & collaboration services: internal operational notifications.
Some providers store or process data outside India. Where that happens, we rely on the provider’s safeguards and transfer mechanisms. We may also disclose data if required by law.
5. Cookies & analytics
We use cookies and similar storage in three categories:
- Strictly necessary: set by our authentication provider to keep you signed in, and to remember your cookie choice. These are required for the Service to function and are always on.
- Analytics & product usage: our product-analytics provider (hosted in the EU) records pages viewed, interactions, performance metrics, and session analytics (including session replay) so we can understand how the Service is used and improve it.
- Security: counters used for rate limiting and abuse prevention.
Analytics and session-analytics cookies are notset until you accept them via our consent banner. You can decline, and analytics will stay off. You can change your mind later by clearing the site’s stored data in your browser, which will prompt the banner again. We do not use cookies for third-party advertising and we do not sell this data.
6. Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete specific content (such as a resume or an interview entry), it is removed from our active systems. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain certain records (e.g. payment records) to comply with law.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections, access controls, and row-level security on our database. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify affected users and authorities of a breach as required by law.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have rights over your personal data, including access, correction, deletion, and withdrawal of consent. If you are in India, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 gives you specific rights; see our Data Rights (DPDP) page for how to exercise them and how to reach our Grievance Officer.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy as the Service evolves. We will update the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, notify you in-app or by email.
