Frequently asked questions

What is crackAI.dev?
A practice platform for machine-learning, AI, and GenAI interviews. It combines voice mock interviews, system-design and coding labs, curated questions with model answers, paper summaries, resume feedback, and interview tracking, the surfaces these roles actually test. See the full feature list.
Is it free? What do I get?
Yes, you can start for free. New accounts get starter credits, enough for one full voice mock interview and its debrief, plus a couple of preview labs and some AI actions. When you need more interviews or the full labs library, that’s where a paid plan comes in.
How do credits work?
Credits are spent on the AI-powered actions, a mock interview and its debrief, resume review, and AI help. A mock interview costs a fixed number of credits, charged only once the interview actually begins (if you never start it, you’re not charged). Free, everyday browsing, questions, papers, reading labs, doesn’t cost credits.
What is the mock interview like?
It’s a spoken conversation with Alex, a senior-ML-engineer AI interviewer. You talk; Alex listens, asks adaptive follow-ups, and can ground the questions in your resume and a target job description. On the free tier the interview runs up to 10 minutes; you get a written debrief afterward. Use headphones in a quiet room and allow microphone access.
The interview asks me to calibrate my mic, why?
A quick two-step calibration (stay quiet, then read one sentence aloud) measures your room so the interviewer knows when you’ve finished speaking versus just pausing to think. It makes the turn-taking feel natural instead of cutting you off mid-thought.
What roles and topics does it cover?
ML and AI engineering roles: ML fundamentals, deep learning, transformers, GenAI and RAG, system design for ML systems (agents, RAG, search, recommenders), coding, behavioral, and the foundational papers behind modern AI.
